Senior High

SHY is our youth ministry for students grades 9-12th. SHY is a place for students to better understand God’s Word and to learn to apply the Word practically to your life. All high school students are welcome to join us at SHY whether you attend First Reformed regularly, occasionally or not at all. If you love the Word or want to learn more, we want to walk with you as you grow in Christ. Fun is always had, don’t forget to bring a friend.

6pm to 7:30pm every Sunday night at the church.

Shawn and Rachael cherish spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and embracing new experiences. They are passionate about investing in the next generation and look forward to helping high school students grow in their faith.

My name is Courtney McCarty, I am married to my husband Spencer. I work for Principal as a Certified Quality Analyst. We live right outside of Prairie City. In my free time, I love be outside, watching sports, and hanging out with friends. I wanted to be a youth group leader to guide and mentor high school kids on their journey with Christ. What a blessing it has been!

My name is Spencer McCarty, I am married to my wife Courtney. I work for Johnston-Grimes Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic. In my free time I enjoy hunting, going to the races, and traveling. I wanted to be a youth group leader to be a role model to the youth.
